Our Services

1

Individual

Individual therapy is a therapeutic approach where a person works one-on-one with a trained mental health professional to address and work through personal challenges, emotional difficulties, and psychological issues. The therapist provides a safe and confidential space for the individual to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, with the goal of gaining insight, enhancing self-awareness, improving coping skills, and fostering personal growth. The therapist may utilize various therapeutic techniques and interventions tailored to the individual's specific needs and goals, helping them to develop healthier patterns of thinking, manage emotions, and navigate life's challenges more effectively.

2

Couples/Relationships (coming soon)

Couples counseling, also known as couples therapy, is a form of psychotherapy that helps couples improve their relationship and resolve conflicts. It involves a licensed therapist guiding both partners through open communication, problem-solving, and developing effective skills to enhance intimacy and connection. The goal is to foster mutual understanding, empathy, and cooperation, addressing various issues such as communication problems, infidelity, trust issues, and parenting conflicts.

3

Group (coming soon)

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy where a small group of individuals meet regularly with a trained therapist. It provides a supportive environment where participants can share their experiences, gain different perspectives, receive feedback and validation, learn from others, develop interpersonal skills, and feel a sense of belonging. Group therapy is cost-effective, promotes normalization of experiences, and provides a continuous support network.

Licensed Professionals

Licensing is important for therapists because it ensures their competence, protects clients from harm, enforces legal and ethical requirements, maintains quality assurance in mental health services, and allows for insurance reimbursement. It provides clients with assurance that licensed therapists have the necessary skills and qualifications to provide effective and ethical therapy.

Let’stalk

LGBTQIA+ Ally

Melamental therapy practice prioritize cultural competency, ensuring that therapists are knowledgeable about the diverse range of identities and experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. We are sensitive to the impact of intersectionality, acknowledging that individuals may face additional challenges due to factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, or disability. Although we do not claim to be an expert of the LGBTQIA+, this understanding helps therapists provide more effective and appropriate care. It's important to note that while therapy practices specifically catering to the LGBTQIA+ community can offer these benefits, it's also crucial to find a therapist who is a good fit for your specific needs and preferences.

Empowerment Through Connection

Having a black therapist can be beneficial for black and brown individuals because it promotes cultural understanding, shared experiences, reduces stigma, provides an intersectional approach, and offers empowerment and representation. A black therapist can better understand the challenges faced by these communities, establish a stronger connection, and address the multiple dimensions of their experiences.

However, the competence and expertise of the therapist remain the most important factors for effective therapy.
